    Users review:

I love this ripper/converter! This is the 4th program I've tried and this one blows the competition away. I find it very easy to use and I'm not at all good with computers :P Ease of use and Best Choice from several reviews (did try the free version first), also like that you have the choice of a lot of different formats.

This program could handle a great number of BD/DVD sources and conversion possibilities for a good price-performance ratio. I really like it for the straight-forward, clean interface. Let alone the plenty of presets that can be customized as necessary.

Did a lot of research before zeroing in on Pavtube. This is an all in one package. There are other rippers but some were slow, some ripped only non-protected media, some ripped in specific formats, but after giving pavtube a try, it had all the qualities I needed. Speed, conversion formats from various media and also from protected media.

Good News! Pavtube Release a New Site - multipelife.com with Product Migration and Name Change. Pavtube Blu-ray Ripper for Mac has now become BDMagic for Mac. Like us to get 20% off BDMagic on Windows/Mac platform: https://www.facebook.com/pavtubefans/app_209569249055691

DVD to Android-Rip DVD movies to Android Phone/Tablet for watching freely

With the constant release of new systems like Android series, Android Tablets/Phones become more and more popular among people all over the world, such as Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S6/S6 Edge, Google Nexus 6/9, HTC One M9, Sony Xperia Z4, etc. are the market hot spots.

According to a recent survey, the marketing share of Android is now approaching Apple. People who have an Android Tablet or Phone on their hand are in large number. They are all perfect for watching videos on the go. Therefore, there is a great demand for backing up, ripping and watching DVD movies onto Android devices. However, Android phones/tablets don't have the DVD drive for playing DVD movies (Read Android Support Video Format). That means, if you want to watch DVD movies on your Android tablet or phone anytime and anywhere you like, you will need to rip/compress DVD to Android compatible video formats like MP4 so that you can play your favorite DVD movies freely on your Android talet or phone.

To rip DVD to Android devices, simply get Pavtube DVDAid and accomplish your task in a few mouse clicks! With it, you can fast convert DVD movies to MP4 video with excellent audio & video quality for playing on Android Tablet or Phone. Besides, video presets for lots of Android devices like HTC, Motorola, Samsung, Google, Acer, Asus, Amazon, Sony, LG, etc. are all provided for you to get videos with best settings for playback on a certain Android device. If you are using a Mac and want to convert DVD movies to Android on Mac, please turn to Android DVD Ripper for Mac.

How to Rip DVD (ISO/IFO) to MP4 for free playing on Android Phone/Tablet?

Step 1. Launch the highly recommended DVD to Android Converter. Click the "DVD" icon to load DVD movie from ROM, "ISO/IFO" icon to import movie from DVD ISO or ISO. When importing DVD movie you need to keep your PC/Mac networked so as to access keys for hacking DVD copy-protections.

(Not a DVD enthusiasts? Want to copy 2D/3D Blu-ray movies, ISO/IFO image files and HD/4K Videos to your Android phone/tablet for seeing it? Well, I think the Pavtube Video Converter Ultimate is what you need. Here is a review of Pavtube Video Converter Ultimate and shows you the reason why choose it as the best video converter ultimate.)

Step 2. Optional - You can click on the dropdown list of "Subtitles" to select subtitles of desired language so that you can view DVD films on your Android devices with proper subtitles, same steps you can do with Audio track selection. Make sure you select the main movie before setting subtitles.

Step 3. Select an Android friendly format, e.g. H.264 .mp4 for conversion. There are optimized format for Galaxy Tab 2, Xoom, Acer Iconia Tab, Asus Transformer, Google Nexus 7, Kindle Fire HD, HTC One, Galaxy S3, Galaxy Mega 5.8/6.3 and more. Basically the "Common Video -> H.264 Video (*.mp4)" is a universal format for Android tablets and smartphones. Or depends on your device, you can choose a suitable video format from "Android" catalogue

Step 4. Optional - If you think the video size this not suitable for your Android Tablet or Phone, you can first choose any one of the provided type, then change the settings, see the following picture:

Please remember the file size is based more on bitrate than resolution which means bitrate higher results in big file size, and lower visible quality loss.

Step 5. Click the big "Convert" button to let the software do the DVD to Android MP4 conversion. After the ripping, you can click "Open" to locate the converted MP4 video files and just transfer them to your Android devices and enjoy your DVD movies.

    Summary:

If you bought many videos from iTunes, Amazon, or BBC iPlayer store, you will find these videos are protected, here I highly recommended a DRM removal software, the steps reference the guide. (click here to pick up the proper apps for you.)

Not a Android users? It doesn't matter, the Pavtube Converter also supports "common" video formats like MOV, M4V, MP4 and has presets for all the models of iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and Apple TV, so you should be able to create files compatible with your iOS basd devices, as well as BlackBerry and Windows 8 RT/Pro devices.

Google Now to make its way to desktops

The popular Android information hub could make its way to desktops soon

According to a code found in a Google Chrome extension, Google Now could soon make its way to your computers too. The extension is developed by Google, so the information seems legit. Of course, Google could just be experimenting with the code, but regardless, it's good to see some work being done to bring the popular information hub to desktops as well.

Google Now on desktops would have more users than conventional smartphone owners (Android 4.1 and above). And that's because there are more people using Google on desktops than regular Android users. So the idea seems very novel and one which makes a whole lot of sense.

The exact time frame of the launch hasn't been made clear yet as it's only a leak for now. But since it's already made its way as an extension on Google Chrome, we could see it being launched at next month's Google I/O event.

Google I/O will be host to a bundle of other announcements too, including the introduction of Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie and several other hardware related announcements. Also, we expect Google to shed some light on the future of Google Glass, which was recently given out to early adopters for an outrageous price.

How would the users benefit from Google Now for desktops? Will there be voice integration on board? These are the questions that are currently plaguing us, but we should know more in the coming days.

The First Flexible AMOLED Display to be launched in Q4' 2013

Samsung Electronics Company (SEC) will exhibit a new Galaxy Note 3, featuring an unbreakable OLED display at IFA 2013 in September and plans to launch the product in Q4'2013.  Based on our research, SDC will utilize a plastic substrate with an LTPS active matrix and RGB patterned OLED. Table 1 shows a comparison of the new Note 3 with the current Galaxy Note 2.

Table 1. Comparison of Galaxy NOTE 2 and NOTE 3

The consumer market will be able to experience the unbreakable plastic based AMOLED display integrated into the Galaxy Note 3. Compared to glass substrate type AMOLEDs, the flexible display features a thinner and lighter form factor, resulting in smaller size and higher mobility.  The display size is also expected to range from 5.5-inch up to 6.x-inch.

Figure 1. Form Comparison of LCD, OLED and UBP OLED

As shown in Figure 1 the UBP OLED reduces both the weight and thickness significantly, compared to LCDs and glass substrate AMOLEDs.  The UBP OLED features 0.5 mm OLED vs. 3.2 mm LCD thickness.  In terms of weight, the LCD is 3 X higher at 160g while conventional OLEDs are 2 X higher at 100g heavier than the UBP OLED.  UBP OLED is built using thin film encapsulation and a PI (polyimide) backplane whereas glass substrate OLED employees glass encapsulation and cover glass.

According to many news sources, SDC plans to produce a full HD resolution with real RGB; however, even if the commercialization of plastic OLED integrated Galaxy NOTE 3 happens in Q4'2013, OLED-A does not expect that SDC would be able to reach either FHD or ramp up to large volume in Q4'2013.  Its production line, A2 extension lines for flexible display is not expected to reach MP until Q3'2013 and even if the production line is ready the anticipated lower  yield rate of the line will limit production volume.  It is most likely that a limited volume would be shipped to selected smartphone carriers in some regions.  However, we, the OLED lovers should not be discouraged by the slow rollout of flexible OLEDs mass production of real RGB OLED is not easy, actually, many display experts have reported the likelihood that it would be impossible produce smaller flexible displays, but the SDC seems to have achieved this milestone. What's next—possible curved and then rollable displays!

10+ Reasons to Watch 'Jurassic Park 3D' in Theaters

While it's easy enough to knock films that get a post-production 3D-conversion (err, sorry, G.I. Joe: Retaliation), this week's Jurassic Park 3D is a true exception to the rule. The difference? Well, starting out with a solidly entertaining crowd-pleaser from Steven Spielberg sure doesn't hurt. Turns out, Jurassic Park in 3D is still one hell of a ride, and that extra dimension is exactly what it should be – a nice bonus, but not essential to audience enjoyment.

Are you ready to journey back to Isla Nubar, now with bonus raptor-popping? You should be.

After the break, we eschew the standard review format to talk about Jurassic Park 3D (because, well, this movie came out twenty years ago) and give you eleven big reasons why you should shell out your hard-earned movie-going dollars to see the movie this weekend. Really, spare no expense on this one. Take the kids. Find the most giant screen you can. Get the big popcorn, too – all the better to jump out of your hands when a huge raptor leaps from the screen right into your face.

10+ Reasons to See 'Jurassic Park 3D' in Theaters

    1. That first look at the dinosaurs of Jurassic Park? Yeah, it's still breathtaking.

Remember how mesmerized you were when Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Dr. Ellie Satler (Laura Dern) finally realized what the hell that cane-toting nutbag (Richard Attenborough) was going on about? The majesty of those strolling beasts? That heartstopping moment when you thought, Hell, maybe they've really done it? It's unbelievably stirring in remastered 3D.

Paired with John Williams' score, and you'd be hard pressed to find a more gasp-inducing scene in current cinema.

    2. The egg-cracking raptor birth is even more emotionally stirring.

Perhaps it's because we now observe those tiny little velociraptors breaking free from their eggy mini homes with the full knowledge of what they'll do next, but damn if those raptor babies aren't cuter than ever.

    3. Jeff Goldblum's hair is, somehow, even more breathtaking than our first look at the park's dinos.

It speaks for itself. (And just prepare yourself for that bare-chested scene.)

    4. Watching the kids marvel at the "interactive CD-ROMs" and "electric cars" that populate the park's cutting edge technology is hilarious.

And let's not even talk about Dennis Nedry's (Wayne Knight) finger-flying computer programming. Yet still better? The fact that Ariana Richards' awkward Lex Murphy isn't just a goofball teenager – she's a bonafide hacker. Now that's forward thinking.

    5. Sick triceratops looks awesome.

    6. It's time we all appreciated Samuel L. Jackson's…cigarette.

Sure, no one should smoke. Sure, Jackson's Ray Arnold was one of the actor's first high profile roles. Sure, he totally bites it. But what's really worth observing here is Ray's damn cigarette, constantly on the verge of falling out of the actor's mouth, omnipresent, practically its own character. Give that thing a spin-off.

    7. You thought the classic T. Rex roar was loud in the original? In Jurassic Park 3D, it is deafening.

Seriously, T. Rex, what is up with your anger issues?

    8. The stomp-induced jiggling puddle footprint will give you nightmares.

You may know what's coming, and yet…

    9. It's fun to reminiscence about a time when we thought that the Brachiosaurus species liked to rear up on its back legs for a snack.

Turns out, they don't. Also, they're better known as "Giraffatitans" these days. Times change (apparently) butJurassic Park doesn't.

    10. Sure, the Raptors Gone Wild sequence is fun in the safety of your own home, but when was the last time you saw it with a crowd?

Will you be the one to scream out like a child when that one go-getter jumps into the ceiling to get at Lex? Trick question – everyone will scream out like a child when that one go-getter jumps into the ceiling to get at Lex.

10+. It just looks bigger, better, bolder, and more fun on the big screen.

Who cares about the 3D? That's a bonus. They could have just re-released Jurassic Park in theaters and it would have been a true cinematic treat. The 3D is the icing on top of the pile of desserts you get after being thrown from an electrified fence.
